Flanagan visited the Llorens Artigas Foundation in Gallifa, Spain, in 1992, where he took up residence to work on a new series of ceramic pieces. Llorens Artigas had been friends with Miró since their student days and Miró had made work at Gallifa. Flanagan’s ‘Gallifa’ series is a homage to both.
