This is an exhibition of linocuts, etchings, ceramic pieces and a bronze hare by Barry Flanagan. It exemplifies the extraordinary range of the artist’s output, its experimental nature and, at the same time, a remarkably consistent and testing interest in the nature of materials and process. Such inquisitiveness was matched by Flanagan’s playful, enduring wit.

Flanagan stayed at the Llorens Artigas Foundation in Gallifa, Spain, in 1992 where he worked on a new series of ceramics. Artigas senior had been friends with Joan Miró since their student days and Miró had also worked at Gallifa. Flanagan’s ‘Gallifa’ series, also cast in bronze, is a homage to both Artigas and Miró. This exhibition highlights that relationship.
