Sing London celebrates art in cities by bringing to life sculpture in public spaces of London. The organisation uses participation to connect people to each other and to the places around them, their aim, to make cities happier places to be. Their current project Talking Statues, will animate 35 statues across London and Manchester by a cast of Actors and Comedians. Flanagan’s work Leaping Hare on Crescent Bell is part of the project. Talking Statues is aimed to raise awareness of and participation with sculpture across the city.

 

 

As part of the project Sing London has invited the public to write a monologue for Flanagans Leaping Hare on Crescent Bell, pictured above currently situated near Broadgate Circle. Information on how to apply can be found on their website. Other works included in the project which have already been given a voice include George Segal Rush Hour (1987), Bruce McLean Eye-I (1993) and Xavier Corbero, The Broad Family (1988).
