TURNER CONTEMPORARY, MARGATE, 21 MAY – 25 SEPTEMBER 2016
Flanagan’s drawing seeing round corners (1967) lends its title to Seeing Round Corners at Turner Contemporary, Margate. Flanagan’s hole in the sea, 1, 2 and 3 (1967) and Untitled (1985)ceramics are also featured. The exhibition explores how artists have responded to the idea of ‘roundness’ and the universal form of the circle, disk or sphere. The exhibition is curated by artists David Ward and Jonathan Parsons. Ward photographed many of Flanagan’s sculptures and Untitled (carving no. 1/83) can be seen here.
