Flanagan’s june 2 ’69 (1969) is currently on show at Tate Modern. The display details the exchange of ideas between Japanese and Western artists in the 1970s borrowing its title from the 1970 Tokyo Biennale, Between Man and Matter. Barry Flanagan, Carl Andre, Keith Sonnier and Reiner Ruthenbeck, were among those taking part alongside Susmu Koshimizu, Jiro Takamatsu and Noriyuki Haraguchi.
