CONCEPTUAL ART IN BRITAIN: 1964 – 1979, TATE BRITAIN

Flanagan’s ringn ’66 (1966) is on show at Tate’s Conceptual Art in Britain 1964-1979. The exhibition brings together many of Flanagan’s contemporaries such as John Latham, Mary Kelly, Michael Craig-Martin, Margaret Harrison, Sue Arrowsmith, Richard Long, David Tremlett and Bruce McLean. Tate have produced a catalogue to accompany the exhibition and ringn ’66 (1966) features in this, detailing Flanagan’s use of language in the formation of the work’s title. Jo Melvin has contributed an essay ‘The New Climate 1969 – 72’ providing insight into the international networks between Flanagan and his contemporaries. More information can be found here.
